6 February 2018Freedom from corruption is a prerequisite for a state based on the rule of law, as well as for the enforcement of human rights and liberties. The global goals set through Agenda 2030 won’t be achieved without battling corruption. Countering corruptions is the responsibility of many different actors in our society in different ways. A profession that is especially responsible to not only safeguard the individual client’s interest but to also to protect the rule of law and human rights and freedoms as a whole are lawyers. The profession therefore has a special responsibility in the fight against corruption.
